With everything up in the air about schools next year, an online school might be a great option! Now it all depends on who you are and your situation, but it's definitely something to look into. If you are doing research on this topic or you just stumbled upon this blog, I hope this is helpful! In this blog post, you'll learn 4 pros and 3 cons of online school! Enjoy!

PROS...
Work at your own pace-
This pro is SUPER good and, for me, outweighs most of the cons! With online school, you can wake up on your own time and chose when you do school and what time you want to take different classes. Now schools like K12 and Connections Academy do a thing called Live Lessons or Class Connects, so you do need to be logged in to school during those, but other than that, you get a lot of freedom in your schoolwork!

More free time-
Online school (depending on your school, pace, classes, etc.) only takes about 4-5 hours a day, whereas public school takes 8 hours and that's not even including bus rides and homework. Online school gives you the freedom to do extracurricular activities or just chill in front of the TV- YOU DO YOU!

No bus or cafeteria-
For some, this is a con, but I bet for most it's a pro. For one, the bus... if you think about sitting in a loud, yellow bus crowded with screaming kids, it's not very fun. And the cafeteria is a large room with a hundred or so kids eating (probably spitting germs everywhere and throwing food too). With online school, you're at your house. No bus ride, and yay, you get to eat at home!

No homework-
At school, you have to do about an hour of homework... after an 8 hour day!! That is way too much school. With online school, all of your work is kinda homework (but not really). What I mean is you're at home ,but it's not just doing a worksheet by yourself in your room.

CONS
Not as many social opportunities-
For parents, I think this is the main concern with online school. I know you won't be able to see people every day, all day, but there are still ways to have friends and hang out with people. Some online schools offer clubs, you can enroll in extracurricular activities, volunteer, and if you're old enough, get a job, etc.

Less connection to teachers-
Now, this is a big one for education. This doesn't mean you don't have a teacher. You actually get assigned certain teachers, you even get a homeroom teacher at some online schools. But like you can in a classroom you can't just raise and ask a question, you have to email your teacher.
