Either you are already struggling to get in this school year's routine to do something with your life or you're about to. There's no in between. I'm not saying this will help you with EVERYTHING, but this WILL help you wake up and start your day off being productive. So I hope this helps and that you enjoy.

1- Have an Amazon Alexa
This should be a given, but to have an Alexa morning routine, then you need to have the Alexa. If you don't though, no worries! They are 29.99 on Amazon. Click the link here to buy one! After you have received your Alexa and followed their setup, you will also need the Alexa app. (Don't worry, it's free). It's also 100% worth it as the app lets you play games, create ROUTINES, and more! And tada, you're done with the most expensive step. (The rest is free!)

2- Open the app and "Create new routine"
Once you have downloaded the Alexa app from the App Store or Google Play, you will need to pair your phone with your Alexa. After you have done that, you will see the home page to explore! I'll let you do that for a second. OK, now that you're back, you should look at the bottom of the screen and see a bar with home, communicate, play, devices, and more. You want to go to the one that says "More." It should pop up with a bunch of options like add a device, skills & games, alarms, and way more. you want to click on "Routines." Once you do that, in the top right corner there should be a plus sign, press that. Now to name your routine- The way you do that is you press "Enter Routine Name." I would suggest Morning Routine or Morning. Something along the lines of morning so you know what that routine is.
3- What Activates Routine
After you have named your routine, the next step is to choose what activates your routine. The way that you do this is you click on the "When this happens." There are 4 options (Well actually 7, but only 4 work for a morning routine).
Option 1 is Voice activation. The way you set this one up is click on voice, then you enter the phrase you want to say to have Alexa start your routine. I would suggest "Alexa, Good Morning" or "Alexa, hello."
The second option is Schedule. With this option instead of saying something to activate it, it will start all on it's own at a set time. The times given are Custom time (so you can pick which time you want it to start the routine, like a minute after your alarm goes off.)
The third is alarm and this one is pretty simple. Another feature of the Alexa is you can set your alarm on it. So you can make a routine come on after the alarm!
The last one is Echo button. This one just lets you pick a button to press to make the Alexa come on. Now what you need to do is pick which one you want to activate your morning routine!
4- Adding Actions
This is the funnest step! Here is where you get to pick what is actually in your morning routine. This part is really up to you, but I will explain all the 17 different things you can add to your routine! You can add 2 or you can add all 17 in any order! It's all up to you!
1) Alexa Says- This is what Alexa will say! You chose a phrase for her to say to you or you can create a custom phrase!
2) Briefings- This will tell you your events and reminders for the day and help you get started right!
3) Calendar- This will tell you your calendar for the day but you have to link the calendar app for this action to work.
4) Date and Time- This one is REALLY straight forward it literally tells you the date or time or date and time.
5) Device settings- This one messes with the audio, volume and enables or disables do not disturb (I prefer not to mess with this one.)
6) Drop In Notification- This one only works if someone else in your house has an Alexa because this is kinda like calling someone on an Alexa.
7) Email- This one is also pretty straight forward. It just reads your emails out for you.
8) Good News- This one tells you a story of Good News and it always feels good to read one of those!
9) Notifications- Alexa will read out your notifications you have received for the day
10) Music- I love this one. It lets you play the type of music you pick for any amount of time you want!
11) News- This will give you a quick overview of the news, which in 2020, that's a lot of news...
12) Skills- This has to be the last thing on your routine. But skills are fun games and things you can play on Alexa!
13) Smart Home- To do this you need to have a smart house. If you do, it basically just turns on lights.
14) Sounds- This one is quite stupid. It plays sounds like animal noises or a doorbell sound. I don't get it, but YOU DO YOU.
15) Traffic- Although we haven't left the house in months... this will tell you all the traffic.
16) Wait- This just adds a little time in between an action in case you don't want it to be one after the other.
17) Weather- This one is boring but useful. It just tells you the weather for the day... That's all.
