Since a lot of people this year are doing online school (at least for a semester), I am going to teach you how to put together a makeshift desk that doesn't look junky and doesn't cost NEARLY as much as a real desk. And it offers more storage! I hope this helps you this year! Enjoy! There might just be an announcement at the end too...

Step 1- Base
This is the first step to building your own desk... the easy part. All you need to do is go on Amazon or mask up to go to Target for 2 storage drawers. The exact name is 3 drawer medium cart white, I know super extra! You don't just have to get white ones though, you can get black, blue, gray, etc. The main thing you need to make sure of is they are the tall, skinny ones and not the short, fat ones... like the ones below. After you have TWO of those in your possession, you are going to clear the space in your room or office (you should also vacuum there) and place both of them down separated enough for you to fit in between them!

Step 2- The Desk Top
This is the fun part! The way I did it is I found TWO shelves in this really random place. I asked my parents if I could use them for a "project." Little did they know, I was putting together a whole desk. Then we connected the two shelves with what looks like a weird door hinge (you're going to need to go to a YouTube video or something for help with that). Next I did something cool, I'll explain in a second. Even though I really recommend the shelf idea... say you don't have a shelf laying around (you know what, now that I think of it, you probably don't). You can always go to Home Depot, IKEA, Lowe's... they probably have something. Now for the funnest part (this part is probably more for the girls). Get some contact paper, yes you heard me correct, get the most annoying stuff to put on in the world. It will all be worth it in the end, trust me. Get a good design. I would suggest not anything too crazy. Your best bet is probably marble... I know I'm basic. Cover the desk top in the contact paper. Good luck with keeping the bubbles out! Now all you have to do is put it on the two storage drawer things from the first step and that's your desk! But wait, here comes the actual fun part!

Step 3- Decor
YAY YAY YAY! We have entered the realm of decoration! (Since I am a girl this part will be more aimed towards girls, BUT guys can still follow along!) This step is split up into three different parts: storage in the two compartments, the stuff on top, and wall decor!
Ok the first section- STORAGE! This will look different for everyone, but I'll explain the way I do it and you can fit it to modify your desk needs. If you got the one I suggested above, you should have 6 drawers! I labeled them, but that was me being extra and bored. I use one side for school (so I have one for supplies, one for school books, and one for random school stuff! The other side is for my Etsy shop (PerlerBeadsAndCo.) So that part is mainly up to you!
The second part- THE TOP DECOR! I keep my desk top pretty simple actually! Again this is 100% your decision. I'm just like your guide through your desk making journey. So if you didn't measure right and have the storage drawer things hanging out from the side click this link and go one minute in the song (I couldn't pass up the opportunity of that). But for real what I did was charge my Apple Watch, iPhone, and Air Pods on one side (I swear I'm not rich) and a wax warmer on the other, and tada, it looks normal! As for the desk top, I have my laptop charger, my Amazon Alexa (again I SWEAR I'M NOT RICH), a few little things, and of course a Spider-Man shrine.
The last part- WALL DECOR! I'm not going to lie most of the wall is taken up of pictures of Tom Holland and Damon Salvatore.... ANYWAYS, I also have these really cool grid boards click the link here to find them on Amazon! I would recommend a calendar if you don't have a planner of some sort too! This is my personal set up below!
